General conditions for carriage and information about your SKY Airlines flight
1. Liability
For travel with an end destination or stopover in a country other than the country from where the travel originated, carriage of the passenger is subject to the international regulations of the Warsaw Convention (WC) or Montreal Convention (MC).
These conventions normally limit the liability of the air carrier for personal injury or property damage. In the MC, the liability for damages, loss or late arrival of checked baggage is limited to maximum 1,000 SDR [Special Drawing Rights] per traveler which corresponds to approx. 1,200 EUR.
Liability for damages resulting from delays is limited to 4,150 SZR, which corresponds to approx. 5,000 EUR.
2. Baggage / transport bans
The holder of the ticket is delivered based on this ticket for the carriage of checked baggage. The following objects may not be checked as baggage: – Objects that may threaten the safety of the aircraft or the health of fellow passengers (in particular poisonous, aggressive, explosive, flammable, pyrophoric, oxidizing, radioactive or magnetic materials of any kind or compressed gasses and aerosols, as well as electronic devices in stand-by mode or with built-in alarm. – Objects whose transport is prohibited in accordance with the regulations of the country from which the flight originates, flies to or over. – Objects which are inappropriate for carriage from the perspective of the carrier due to their weight, size or nature of their condition unless the carrier has expressly approved transport by a written notation on the baggage check.
3. Carry-on baggage
According to international regulations, one piece of carry-on baggage is permitted per passenger. Carry-on baggage may not exceed a weight of 6 kg (13 lbs) and 55 × 40 × 20 cm (21.7 × 15.7 × 7.9 in.). Only one carry-on is permitted per passenger.
EU-VO 1546/2006 applies to all departures from an EU Member State which states each passenger may travel with liquids, pressurized containers (e.g. spray cans), pastes, lotions or creams of up to 100 ml per packaging unit in the carry-on baggage.
The actual capacity of the packaging stated on the bottle is the deciding factor. The individual containers must fit completely in a resealable transparent plastic bag with a capacity of maximum 1 l.
Please note that these regulations also apply to stopovers at airports of an EU Member State after departure from a third country (e.g. Antalya).
Weapons of any kind may not be carried aboard. This includes scissors, pocket knives, etc. Cigarette lighters are also prohibited. If such objects are collected by security authorities at the airport, the carrier has not storage requirement.
4. Valuables / medications
The passenger is required to travel with important documents, valuables and needed medications as carry-on baggage.
If unable to carry on such objects, the passenger must declare the corresponding objects to the carrier separately. Otherwise, any liability by the carrier hereby excluded.
Valuables include jewelry, value and identity documents, currencies, cameras and all objects of special value according to general opinion.
5. Special baggage
Special baggage must always be declared. Entitlement to the carriage of special baggage only exists when expressly confirmed by the carrier.
Special baggage includes in particular sporting equipment such as bicycles, golf equipment, surfboards, skis, scuba diving equipment as well as roller skates and larger musical instruments. The overriding factor for the carriage of special baggage is the available capacity and applicable safety regulations. The carriage of special baggage is also subject to a charge.
More information is available at the following telephone number: 0211 699 318-0
6. Baggage claims / lost baggage
In the event that baggage is damaged or lost, the passenger is obligated to report this immediately upon receipt of the baggage to the airline or its representatives and to document it in writing using the international PIR form (property irregularity report).
If an immediate report is not possible, then the passenger must report to the carrier within 7 days.
In the event of damage or loss, the passenger must present corresponding receipts regarding the relevant items to the carrier by way of claims settlement.
In addition, he/she must present a list of damaged or lost items to the carrier stating their new value and age of the items.
If the passenger should demand compensation for items, then he/she is obligated to obtain a neutral opinion of the value of the items at the request of the carrier. The passenger is obligated to preserve the damaged item free of charge for duration of the settlement.
If lost pieces of baggage are found after replacement, then the traveler is obligated to surrender the sum of indemnity or compensation recovered.
7. Entry requirements
The passenger must comply with all travel formalities established by public officials himself/herself and produce all necessary departure, entry and other documents. Please remember that passports are required for accompanying children.
8. Infants
Children from 0 to 2 years of age have no claim to a seat during a flight to the extent that only a lump sum processing fee was paid for them.
9. Pregnancy
The following regulations apply to all flights with SKY Airlines, which must be observed in the event of travel by pregnant passengers:
Up until the 27th week of pregnancy, a traveler is not required to show a physician’s clearance certificate at boarding.
Upon commencement of the 28th week of pregnancy, a traveler must present a physician’s clearance certificate at boarding. This certificate may not be more than 7 days old.
Please note: As the return flight is normally always at least seven days later, this necessarily means that the passenger must once again display such a certificate on location in Turkey. The customer must be expressly advised thereof.
Upon commencement of the 32nd week of pregnancy, a traveler must present a physician’s certificate of clearance upon boarding a flight that must originate from the day of travel itself.
Upon completion of the 32nd week of pregnancy, carriage is no longer permitted.
Please note: In the event of departure in the 31st week of pregnancy and a two-week travel period, the airline may no longer transport the traveler! It is imperative that the customer be advised thereof!
